Dental care plan

The Mount Dental Practice and York Dental Implant Centre is situated in a Grade II listed building close to the heart of the historic city of York.

The practice is one of York's longest established practices. The practice has expanded over the years and has been sympathetically upgraded to offer state of the art, modern dental care in a historic listed building

Dr Robert Glover - Lead Clinician

Dr Robert Glover qualified at Newcastle University in 1992. He has a special interest in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry and dental implants. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The Association of Dental lmplantology and the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (Royal College of Surgeons). International Team of Implantology, and The European Association of Osseointegration. Robert studied for the prestigious degree of MSc in Implant Dentistry at Warwick University and Medical School, and was awarded a distinction, the highest level attainable in Implant Dentistry. Dr Glover accepts referrals from other practices for implants, cosmetic and advanced dentistry.

Robert has been married to Emma for 14 years and has four children aged from 0 to 9 years. Outside of work Robert clearly spends much time being a 'big kid' and when time allows Robert plays the trombone in a local band.

Dr Alison Byrne

Many patients will know Alison from her 16 years at The Stonebow practice. Alison came to work with us in 2002. Alison is a very experienced practitioner and patients always her appreciate her kind and gentle manner.

Alison completed a course in ‘Advanced Restorative Dentistry’ in Manchester in 2006 and is enrolled on a further advanced course. Alison has an extensive postgraduate training record and like everyone at The Mount Dental Practice, she is committed to further training.

Alison is married to Ray and has two children.

Dr Nitin Prasad

Dr Prasad joined the practice in August 2007 and provides routine dental care as well as taking referrals for endodontic (root filling) treatment. Following qualification with honours in 2002 from Birmingham, Nitin undertook further postgraduate training in the specialist fields of Oral Surgery, Paediatric Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry, gaining his MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005.

Nitin also works part time in the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield as a Clinical Assistant in the Restorative Department. There he makes up part of the specialist team treating patients referred in for complex endodontic and endodontic re-treatments.

Nitin is engaged and his wedding is later in the year.

As individuals we are having to make more and more provision for our own health needs. We at The Mount Dental Practice believe that the best way of making treatment affordable, without compromising our high quality of care, is to offer you membership of our own Dental Care Plan which provides the following benefits:

A convenient payment scheme for routine treatment.
Greater choice of treatment and materials.
More time to help prevent decay and gum disease.
An extended payment facility to spread additional costs.
A fair and equitable system where everybody pays the same.
Substantial discounts on additional treatments and sundries.

Dental Care Plan Plus £14.60 per month

Regular dental appointments (two per year) to provide:
     Clinical examination (Dental Health Check)
     Screening for oral cancer
     Bitewing X-rays as part of examination appointments

Two hygiene appointments per year to provide:
     Scale and polish to remove plaque bacteria
     Periodontal advice
     Preventive techniques to reduce decay and gum disease.
     All subsequent remedial work within 12 months of recommended restorative work.

20% reduction off any laboratory-based treatments required, i.e. crowns, bridges and dentures.
20% reduction off any fillings.
20% reduction off other dental work (extractions, etc.).
20% reduction off any additional hygiene work.
10% reduction off oral hygiene products purchased at the surgery.
Extended Payment Scheme available for treatments over £300.

Dental Care Plan £11.25 per month

As for the Dental Care Plan Plus, but members are only entitled to one hygienist appointment per year.
Membership is at the discretion of the dentist.

Specialist Dental Care Plan £21 .00 per month

As for the Dental Care Plan, but members are entitled to two dental appointments and four hygiene appointments per year. Membership is at the discretion of the dentist.
